Year 3 2021 - 2022
Autumn Term 2021
A huge welcome back to our children in Year 3 after the Summer holidays. I am already so proud of how they have settled into their new classroom and have adapted to our new routines.
Over the next term we have so many exciting activities and tasks planned and I am especially looking forward to getting to know all the children better. You will find a detailed overview of what the curriculum will look like below but our first most exciting project will be to find out more about our own school in the topic called 'There's no place like home'. It is our 150th anniversary and during our geography and history lessons we will find out more about life in Hesketh Bank and what it was like to attend our school. We will also be reading a local folk tale called the 'Lancashire Giant' and we will also be researching a 'locally successful, inspirational person' and writing a biographies based on their life (I'll let the children tell you who!)
Our topic in Science and PSHE is about 'Health and Wellbeing', with the main focus on what a healthy lifestyle looks like and why it's important to look after, not only our bodies, but also our minds.
We are also really excited to be the first class to be having swimming lessons and during PE we will be doing 'Outdoor and adventure'.
There are so many exciting activities planned so watch out in our weekly newletter for information about them.
